Ellen
Graphic Design Lead
I joined RATIONALE in 2019, after working at a major beauty retailer. I was able to transfer my knowledge of the luxury landscape in beauty and was excited to take on more responsibility. I was very much on the tools designing all digital and print outputs as well as art directing photoshoots. Fast forward 3.5 years and our design team has grown to a wonderful Team of seven. I was promoted to Graphic Design Lead. I love supporting and collaborating with the Team, and I love the balance of organisation and creativity.
When I’m not working from home, I take the V/Line train to Kyneton. It’s comfortable, peaceful and I’m able to start my workday whilst enjoying the beautiful rural landscape. My days alternate between managing the Team’s workflow, creative campaign ideation, creative presentations, post-production, packaging design, and more. RATIONALE affords us flexibility in how our HQ days flow, so we can balance our professional and personal goals with ease.
I love that the business fosters Team connection. Earlier this year, each team was given a day to enjoy any activity together. We chose to attend the Australian Open and had the best time watching tennis, grabbing a bite to eat and seeing live music. These types of initiatives help grow our working relationships and allow us to bring a friendly energy to our everyday.

Office Manager & EA
I first read about RATIONALE in the newspaper. There was an upcoming careers night to gather interest for the opening of Kyneton HQ. I was blown away by the incredible opportunities and the culture; it was exactly what I was looking for. I spoke to two of the Team Members and said I hoped to one day be an Office Manager or Executive Assistant. I have been with RATIONALE for nearly three years and recently, I was lucky enough to be given the role of Merchandise Allocator. During this time, I became aware of my calling and was lucky enough to transition back to my original role. Without this opportunity, I wouldn’t be so happy and content with what I am doing every day.
My days start with some form of exercise, whether it’s a walk along the Kyneton River or a Pilates class. I always start by ensuring that Shamini, our CEO, is set up for success, and all items at HQ are in order and stocked for our Teams. Then I work through items on my to-do list, which could be travel planning for Shamini or Richard, research for our Executive Team, coordinating meetings and events at HQ, executing cultural initiatives or supporting our Talent Team. I love that every day is different. Some days I’m in front of a screen all day, and on other days, I could be all over HQ, sometimes clocking up over 10,000 steps a day!
Bringing all of our beautiful RATIONALE events—like the yearly Retail Conference Gala Dinner and RATIONALE Christmas Lunch—to life would be an obvious answer. But if I think a little deeper, I would say joining Shamini, our CEO, in a book club where we read Atomic Habits together. I then created a presentation based on our learnings which she presented to the whole company. I also couldn’t miss mentioning our transition to Kyneton. I played an integral part in the set-up of our new Kyneton HQ and loved welcoming all our Team Members to their new Kyneton home. It was such an incredible milestone, which I was so proud to have been involved in.
Adam Covelli
Enterprise Architect
I joined RATIONALE in 2015 as the IT and Operations Administrator. From that starting point, I’ve had the opportunity to grow and evolve along with the business itself. Over the years, I moved into the role of IT Manager as part of the Leadership Team and eventually became an Enterprise Architect as part of the Executive Team. Being in a small but rapidly growing business has meant wearing a lot of different hats, which has taught me a lot. Along the way, I’ve led and contributed to a wide range of projects. I’ve had the chance to not just build systems from the ground up, but also to watch them transform as our needs have changed. It’s been incredibly rewarding to witness our Head Office grow from a team of around 12 to more than 80 people, alongside our expansion from just a handful of Flagships to 15 locations, including international markets. My career at RATIONALE has been a rewarding journey of growing alongside the business — continually expanding my own skill set as the company has evolved.
I’m an early riser and like to start my working day
early, which gives me a quiet window to get ahead of the day and focus on my
most important tasks without interruptions. I oversee our IT department, which
manages our end-to-end technology needs across support, infrastructure,
security, applications, software development, projects and strategy. Because of
that broad scope, no two days are ever the same. Some days are spent driving key
projects forward, carving out time for problem-solving and thinking ahead to
what the business will need as it continues to grow. Other days are more
reactive, responding to issues as they arise: managing inevitable IT
curveballs, troubleshooting problems, and navigating unexpected challenges that
require quick decisions. There’s never a dull moment, but I’m fortunate to work
alongside a fantastic IT team. We’re hands-on, highly collaborative, and always
willing to jump in wherever needed to keep everything running smoothly.
The highlight of working at RATIONALE, for me, has been the people. I get to collaborate with a team that’s smart, supportive, and
genuinely invested in doing great work together. There’s a strong sense of trust and shared purpose, and it makes even the busiest days feel worthwhile. Being part of a culture where people back each other, stay curious, and pull in the same direction is what I value most about RATIONALE.
Shannon Heggie
Head of Agency
I first discovered RATIONALE as a client, after asking a few friends where their newfound glow had come from, I booked a Skin Consultation at the Woollahra Flagship and began my Essential Six ritual. I was also referred to one of RATIONALE’s Agency Partners to help treat the melasma I was experiencing at the time. The combined results were transformative.
When a former colleague joined the business, I couldn’t help but reach out to see which opportunities might be available. I joined RATIONALE in 2022 as a State Retail Manager, supporting our NSW, ACT, and QLD Flagship teams. In 2023, I stepped into a National Retail role—one I had held in a previous business—driven by a passion for scaling commercial success and embracing a growth mindset.
In 2025, I came full circle, returning to my wholesale roots as Head of Agency. Today, I lead the strategic direction of our legacy channel, as we partner with clinics across Australia to deliver elevated commercial support, renewed strategy, and a shared commitment to excellence. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a passionate, driven, and talented team. Our collective energy and focus continue to expand what’s possible in this ever-evolving space.
No two days are the same—which is exactly what I love. From national strategy meetings and one-on-one partner consultations to new business scouting, my role sits at the intersection of brand, commercial, and clinical excellence.
I’m actively advocating for our team, department, and partners, ensuring we’re building sustainable, future-focused frameworks that drive real impact. My focus is always on creating meaningful, scalable outcomes for everyone in our ecosystem.
Helping evolve our Agency channel into a commercially empowered, brand-aligned network has been a defining milestone in my career.
It’s deeply rewarding to see our long-standing partners grow in confidence and capability, and to know that the tailored support we offer directly impacts the results they deliver for their clients. We’re in a phase of growth and elevation—reimagining everything from our processes and presence to the depth of our partnerships—and I feel so energised by what’s to come.
